ICPI Advanced Certification Frequently Asked Questions
Why a Level II Certification program? In today's highly competitive contracting industry, ongoing education is more important than ever for company owners, supervisors and crew leaders who want to set themselves apart from their competition, get more jobs and grow their business. Whether it means adapting to new hardscape design trends, expanding on base installation techniques or learning specialty pavement applications, there are always opportunities for even the most seasoned professionals to strengthen their knowledge.
About the ICPI Level II Concrete Paver Installer Program This program is designed to increase the knowledge of individuals involved in the construction and installation of interlocking concrete pavements and allows participants to choose their own path of advanced education by completing a series of approved continuing courses that are provided through a combination of classroom training and online courses. The program requires participants to complete 24 hours of continuing educations credits through approved continuing education courses. Each course is assigned continuing education credits based on the numbers of hours required to complete the session.

Whether it means driving job site performance, balancing estimating, job costing and accounting or leading and managing work crews, there are always opportunities for even the most seasoned business professionals to strengthen their knowledge in business.
What is the ICPI Concrete Paver Business Professional Program? This program is designed to increase the business knowledge of company owners and senior managers involved in the construction and installation of interlocking concrete pavements. The program allows participants to choose their own path of advanced business education by completing a series of approved continuing courses that are provided through a combination of classroom training and online courses. The program requires participants to complete 36 hours of approved continuing educations credits. Each course is assigned continuing education credits based on the numbers of hours required to complete the session.

Who is Business Training Library?
Business Training Library works with ICPI to provide Level II and Business Professional Certifications. They provide us with access to the Business Professional courses as well as the technology to allow us to deliver and track all course history and learning progress. They are also the organization processing our enrollment and final certification fees.
Why have I received an invoice from Business Training Library?
Business Training Library is our partner bringing you the advanced level certification courses.They are responsible for billing and collection of enrollment, certificate and course fees.
What is the total cost of advanced certification?
The short answer is: it depends.Below is a breakdown of the types of fees you will incur in order to complete the program:
- Enrollment fee: $75 ICPI members, $125 non-members
Upon successful enrollment into this program, an invoice will be sent to you, from our partner Business Training Library, via email (mseidner@bizlibrary.com) at the end of the calendar month in which you enrolled. Please remit payment within 30 days of receipt of this invoice. Your enrollment fee also includes a free course!
- Course fees range from $24/hour/ICPI members or $40/hour/nonmembers
This is where "its depends" comes in. Courses are priced based on the number of credits and whether or not you are an ICPI member. You must take enough courses to complete the CEU requirement for the program, 24 hours for the ICPI Level II Concrete Paver Installer Program or 36 hours for the ICPI Concrete Business Professional Program. The enrollment fee includes a FREE course and will be assigned to you in the "My Resources" area of the learning management system.
- Certificate fee: $25 ICPI members, $50 non-members
Upon successful completion of the program's CEU requirements, participants will be notified and invoiced for a certificate fee. Once payment is received, your certificate will be mailed to you. You may track your continuing education hours in the "My Reports" area of the learning management system.
What is included in the enrollment fee? The enrollment fee includes your registration into the program, CEU tracking and reporting ability and a prerequisite course for FREE!
How can I satisfy my continuing education credits? You may complete a combination of classroom sessions and/or online courses that have been approved for continuing education credits for the program. View our calendar of events page for a listing of approved regional classroom sessions. Pricing for classroom sessions may vary. Online courses are available in the "My Catalog" area of the learning management system and may be purchased at any time. Pricing for online courses may vary. Each program has a required course and is offered as part of the enrollment fee. The course may be accessed in the "My Resources" area upon successful enrollment. It may be completed at any time during your training. Please note that we cannot accept past courses taken for credit unless they were an ICPI classroom or online education course.
What type degree qualifies for the business professional certification? If applicants can submit evidence of successful completion of a recognized business degree from an accredited college or university they are only required to take 24 hours of training to meet the objectives of ICPI Concrete Paver Business Professional Program. Other business professionals who do not have previous business training are required to meet the 36 hour requirement
How can I get the courses that my manufacturer or dealer presents to qualify as approved credits? Ask your manufacturer or dealer to become and ICPI Approved Continuing Education Provider. ICPI offers outside organizations approval for continuing education programs if they meet the objectives, speaker qualifications and they are delivered by approved continuing education providers. What are benefits of an advanced certification? ICPI advanced certification allows you to set yourself apart from your competition, get more jobs, and grow your business by enhancing your knowledge of construction and installation of interlocking concrete pavements. Can I speak to another contractor who has taken an online course? Yes. Email your questions to icpi@icpi.org and we will be glad to have another contractor respond to you!
How long does an online course take? Online courses vary in length. You can determine the "course duration" by viewing the course description in the "My Catalog" area of the learning management system.
Can I take courses in several sessions? Yes. The courses include a book marking feature, which will allow you to return to the place in the course that you last left.
