As part of its Workforce Development program, the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) will conduct an Installer Beginner Boot Camp pilot this month in Michigan. The course, designed to provide individuals with no construction-site experience with a basic level of competency, has been developed by Frank Bourque, ICPI member and President of Greenmark Landscaping & Development, Inc. Bourque, has collaborated with members of the Workforce Development Special Committee Beginner Boot Camp Task Group.
The purpose of this pilot to test the Beginner Boot Camp material on a live audience with an instructor. Feedback from this event will be used to finalize the materials for approval of the ICPI Board of Director at 2018 ICPI Summer Meeting. In the future, we anticipate ICPI contactor members will use boot camps as an installer recruitment and training tool.
