Slag Aggregate and Permeable Pavement Cleaning Slated for Innovative Technologies Forum at Summer Meeting

July 11, 2017

Since 2014, the Innovative Technologies Forum at the ICPI Summer Meeting sets the stage for members to learn about more cost-saving technologies. This year’s presentations include the many uses of slag aggregates from Mike Moore with TMS International. Another presentation will be by Nic Iverson on Cyclone permeable pavement cleaning machines.

Mr. Moore will provide an overview of slag aggregate sources and specifications. He will provide examples of slag aggregate uses in manufactured concrete paving products and in pavement bases. Mr. Iverson’s presentation includes the evolution of Cyclone machines from cleaning tire rubber from airport runway touchdown areas to an effective permeable pavement cleaning technology. He will provide experiences and data on cleaning permeable interlocking concrete pavements, and will likely have a machine available for inspection and demonstration outside the ICPI summer meeting hotel, the Westin Harbour Castle in downtown lakeside Toronto. The ITF will be held for ICPI members from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Refreshments will be available. ICPI members and guests can register for the summer meeting here.
