The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (“ICPI”) respects your privacy as a user of its website.  ICPI will make every reasonable effort to ensure that any personal information you provide is used only for the purposes stated below.  While the policy presented here concentrates on information collected by the ICPI website, it also applies to personal information submitted to ICPI by other means (mail, fax, e-mail, telephone, sign-up sheets, and so on). Please take the time to read this Privacy Policy carefully as we believe it is important for ICPI members, non-members and website users to understand how ICPI collects, processes and uses personal information.

By using the ICPI website, including the page dedicated to the ICPI Foundation, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the processes and policies of this Privacy Policy and furthermore, that you consent to providing the data we collect and how we use the same and share it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  If you do not agree with the data we collect and/or how ICPI uses and/or shares it, you should not use the ICPI website or portals and should exit the same promptly.

The ICPI Privacy Policy is subject to amendment from time to time by the ICPI in its sole discretion.  Each time you use the website you should review the Privacy Policy to ensure that you are reviewing the most recent version of this Privacy Policy.  ICPI will include a date of any modification or amendment at the top of the first page of this Privacy Policy.

ICPI is a Virginia incorporated 501(c)(6) non-profit trade association with its principal office located at 14801 Murdock Street, Suite 230 Chantilly, Virginia 20151. The ICPI can be visited at its website located at www.icpi.org.

Personal Information Collected

Most data that ICPI collects is used only to help ICPI better serve its  members.  It is the ICPI’s general policy to collect and store only personal information that its members and website visitors knowingly provide and that enables ICPI to contact them on matters related to the ICPI or respond to their inquiries.  

  • Contact Information:  This includes information you provide when corresponding or communicating with ICPI by telephone, electronic mail, or otherwise.  It may also include information that you provide when you participate in ICPI discussion boards or other social media functions that may be made available on the ICPI website and when you report a problem with the ICPI website. The information you provide may include your name, address, electronic mail address, telephone number, etc.

  • Membership Information:  ICPI may also collect information about your membership, including your name, contact details such as your address, telephone number and electronic mail address (business and/or personal), and any other information required to apply for and maintain membership, including information ICPI provides to you as a benefit of membership.

  • Dues Information:  ICPI may require certain information and/or data related to your business necessary to determine annual dues and any annual dues increases or decreases.  Such information is maintained as strictly confidential and is not shared with any third party.

  • Certification Information:  ICPI collects and retains information related to its certification program(s) and your participation in or earning certification under one of its programs. This may include information about the experience /performance of those certified under the ICPI program. Where the certification concerns a company or business, this may include similar information identifying employees.

With regard to each of your visits to the ICPI website, ICPI will automatically collect certain information, including:

Technical information, including the IP address used to connect your computer or device to the Internet, browser type and version, time zone setting, etc.

Information will also be collected about your visit, including pages you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, and page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, etc.)

Personal data icpi collects from others

ICPI may receive information about you from publicly available and third-party databases or services that provide information about business people ICPI believes will help it identify products and services that may be of interest to you.  ICPI will obtain your consent before contacting you if required by the law of the country in which you are located.

Non-Personal Data:

ICPI collects information that is sent to it automatically by your web browser and may use the same to generate aggregate statistics about visitors to the ICPI website, including, without limitation:

-IP addresses

-Browser type

-Device type (desktop, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.)

-Operating system

-Local time zone

ICPI may use collected Non-Personal data for various business purposes such as providing better member service, market research, fraud prevention and improving its website experience and operation. How ICPI uses your Personal Data:

ICPI will only process your Personal Data, including sharing it with third parties, where (1) you have provided your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), (2) the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party, (3) ICPI is required by law, (4) processing is required to protect your vital interests or those of another person, or (5) processing is necessary for the purposes of ICPI’s legitimate commercial interests, except where such interests are overridden by your rights and interests.

Personal Data that you provide directly to ICPI may be used for the following purposes:

a)      To carry out ICPI’s obligations arising out of your membership or any other contract or agreement entered into between you and ICPI and to provide you with information, products and member services that you request from ICPI;

b)      To organize events or meetings that you have inquired about or registered for, and to provide you with information, and other materials, relating to times, locations, sponsors, and the content of the event or meeting, including speakers, sponsors and other attendees;

c)      To provide any ICPI issued newsletter or publication, provided that you have given your consent to its receipt;

d)      To provide responses to questions you may have and to provide related ICPI membership services.

general website users

ICPI does not collect any personal information from general users browsing the website.  To the extent permitted by law and with respect to tracking overall ICPI website use, only aggregate data, such as the number of hits per page, is collected and used only for ICPI’s internal and marketing purposes.


ICPI Members, Subscribers, Certified Installers, Manufacturers, Convention or Meeting Registrants:

Several areas of the ICPI website require that you send ICPI personal information.  The required information may relate to the following:

            - ICPI Membership application

            - Subscriber information

            - On-line publication and product purchases

            - ICPI’s Certified Paver Installer Program Information

            - Certified Paver Manufacturer Information

Personal information of ICPI members, subscribers, ICPI certified installers, industry related manufacturers, as well as ICPI convention and meeting registrants collected by ICPI may include, but is not be limited to, names, addresses, electronic mail addresses, telephone numbers, etc. This information may also be received offline as well by mail, fax and telephone in the form of membership applications and renewals, meeting or program registrations, etc.  ICPI uses demographic and professional information collected on membership and other forms for aggregate analysis, to personalize its member records for better service, and to create targeted mailing lists for promotion by ICPI of technical resources, educational seminars, and publications. As stated previously in this policy, ICPI member information collected for the purpose of determining annual ICPI member dues is not shared with any third party and is accessible only by ICPI. 

In addition to the primary purpose stated or implied at the time the information is collected, to the extent permitted by law, ICPI  may also use your postal mailing address to send you information about ICPI programs, publications, events, surveys, etc. 

ICPI also makes its member data available to companies offering ICPI member benefits and to other responsible third parties that may offer industry relevant products and services that may be of interest and value to ICPI members.  Both ICPI member and non-member users of the ICPI website may request that the ICPI not disclose the data it collects to any third parties on the membership application form, subscriber information form, conference or convention registration forms, or any other form on which they are providing information to ICPI. The users may opt-out by changing their profile online or contacting ICPI at icpi@icpi.org or calling ICPI at (703) -657-6900.

If you supply an electronic mail address, ICPI may use the same to confirm your ICPI membership, an order you place, follow-up on a request for information, etc. as the context of the communication may reasonably dictate. ICPI may also use your electronic mail address to keep you informed about current and future ICPI programs, events, publications and initiatives.  On occasion ICPI may use your electronic mail address for a purpose indirectly related to the original context (e.g. e-mailing a customer satisfaction survey to those who have made purchases from the ICPI online publication service).   Except as stated above, ICPI does not make its electronic mail lists available to any third party.  ICPI members and non-members may opt out of ICPI’s use of their electronic mail addresses for the above purposes by changing your profile online or calling 703-657-6900. Because of the relationship ICPI seeks with its members, ICPI may send members periodic updates and announcements via e-mail.  ICPI may also make an occasional telephone call (e.g. to clear up a problem or inquire about a lapsed membership).

ICPI members have their own online opt-out section where they can opt-out of third-party print mailings and ICPI electronic mail announcements; they can also specify their preferred telephone number and mailing address.  Again, ICPI members may also opt-out of receiving such communications by changing their profile online or calling 703-657-6900.

Restricted Access Web Pages

Some areas of the ICPI website are restricted to ICPI members.  These areas require users to log in using company name and member ID or password.  This login information is not collected or tracked; it is used solely to verify that a person is authorized to use a particular website resource and is not made available to any third party.

Anonymous Information Collected Online

Generally speaking, you can visit the ICPI website without revealing any personal information about yourself or your company.  ICPI does keep a record of all server activity, which means that every page, image, or other type of filed requested by your browser is written into a log file.  Each entry in the log contains, among other things, information about the computer you’re using to connect to the Internet (“IP address”) and about your browser (e.g. which version of Internet Explorer you’re using). It does not however, tell us anything about you personally.  To the extent permitted by law, ICPI may use aggregate data from the web logs to determine how the site’s resources are being used and to refine its navigating structure.  If the need arises, ICPI may use the logs to trace the source of abusive or illicit activity.  ICPI does not share its web logs with any outside party.

Consent to Use Personal Information

For the purposes of the Data Protection Act(s) of 1984 and 1998 (as applicable) and the General Data Protection Regulations issued by the EU, ICPI and its authorized agent/vendor must store, host and otherwise process the information (including personal data) supplied by the website user when registering for this website. ICPI may send such data outside of the European Economic Area for processing.  If you reside in the European Union, please indicate your affirmative consent that the personal information you have provided to ICPI may be transferred and stored in countries outside of the EU, including the United States and that ICPI may use such information to contact you via electronic mail, mail or by telephone with respect to matters related to the ICPI and its programs, your membership and other relevant educational and industry information. The user supplies as defined above when registering for the website in order to allow ICPI or its designated agent/vendor consent to use the information to send the user unsolicited direct mail advertisements, promotions, and solicitations for third parties’ products and services.

Credit Card Account Information

ICPI does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members or non-member customers.  When members or non-member customers choose to pay using their credit cards, ICPI submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearing house and does not store such information.

Cookies

A “cookie” is a text file, stored on your computer that includes information that identifies that computer and can be retrieved by our server to create a seamless browsing session.  Most cookies used on the ICPI site are deleted when your browser is shut down or in a fixed amount of time, whichever occurs sooner.  Members-only pages and other restricted areas use this type of cookie.

Most browsers accept cookies by default. If you set your browser to reject all cookies, these areas and others may not function properly.  Most browsers have a setting whereby the browser alerts you when a server attempts to place a cookie in your hard drive; you are given the option of accepting or rejecting it.

Material Submitted Online

Some areas of the ICPI website allow you to submit questions or express your opinions.  As stated in our legal notice, all submissions become the property of ICPI and the ICPI is not responsible for the opinions expressed and disclaims any and all liability arising out of the opinions so expressed.

Links to Other Websites

The ICPI website contains links to other websites.  ICPI has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.  Check the privacy policy of a website before revealing any personal information.


Exceptions

In certain circumstances, and as an exception to this privacy policy, we may, without notice to you, release information to comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute or court order, or in other special cases, such as, for example, suspected fraudulent or criminal activity, or an attempt to breach the security of ICPI or its website.

Even though other locales may have different laws from those of the Commonwealth of Virginia, by accessing www. icpi.org you agree that the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to rules relating to conflict of laws, will apply to all matters relating to the use of www.icpi.org.

The user and the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute also agree to submit to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the Courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia with respect to any or all such matters.
